FAQs Your Questions Answered
At Combat Fitness North West we understand that choosing a Personal Trainer is a big deal, both parties have to be able to work together with confidence and trust in order for there to be a success. There also needs to be fun had along the way.
Below I have listed some FAQs about our Personal Training and Group Training that may be on your mind. If I have still not answered you questions please go to our contact us with your questions.
What is a personal trainer? How can the use of a personal trainer help me to achieve my goals?
Whether you want to lose weight, train for an event or simply get fit, using a personal trainer will help you achieve your goals, without causing you pain or injury. A good personal trainer has a background in health and fitness.
In addition, a good personal trainer will be a good listener, a great motivator and someone that you will build a trusting and lasting relationship with. So, if your goal is to get into your wedding dress or your summer dress in a few months' time or just have the beach body you always wanted, I take that overall goal on board and make sure your exercise plan is goal driven, but most of all achievable.
How do the training plans work?
After an initial consultation, we arrange your first session here we assess your fitness, taking measurements, weight. We look at your food intake and discuss nutrition, we will then do an hour's workout! After the session, I go away and design a programme to fit your needs and budget. This is not all done by me! Your needs and thoughts are taken seriously and the plan is always something you will be engaged with and most of all happy with.
What if I need advice over the phone or email?
Here at Combat Fitness North West I pride myself on putting my clients first, so I am always available for help and advice. That way you'll always say on top and informed with your training. So pop us an email, drop us a text or give us a call and we will get back to you ASAP.
I work out but I'm not getting results I want! Why?
The idea of a workout is not to over train, by doing too much without knowing your own body and its current limitations, because if your body is not ready for the result, you won't get one. Patience is a virtue in this!
I often get people asking for help who go to the gym and do fast running or short training. When I ask more it becomes apparent they don't know about training intensity, repetitions and good exercise form, they don't have a solid nutrition plan in place and after going to the gym they are not refuelling their body properly and often end up putting on some extra weight.
Make sure while you are training you are on the right track, that you aren't pushing yourself too hard or not at all, take care of your form. Look to develop a healthy daily routine, whether you're walking, sitting or working, you will get results in a shorter period of time and stay fit forever.
What happens if I need to cancel or rearrange a session?
When cancelling or rearranging a session I always ask people to give me a minimum of 24 hours’ notice, this gives me the best chance of filling that time slot again, but, I am aware sometimes things can’t be helped and unforeseen circumstances crop up, all I ask is that you call me and speak to me!
Do I need any equipment?
The only equipment you will need is suitable clothing and footwear. Clothes that restrict your movement will not be suitable for the range of activity within a session. I will provide all other equipment for the session.
Which areas do you cover?
Generally, I cover Preston, Longridge, Penwortham, Garstang, Leyland, Kirkham, Bamber Bridge, Longton, Lostock Hall, Broughton, Chipping, Croston and most other outlying areas of Preston. Lytham and Blackpool
We do also cover out of the areas listed above but there may be an extra cost of £10 per session. This is discussed on booking.
I don't like working out in the gym, what alternative do I have?
Many people don’t like working out in the gym for a vast number of reasons. That is why I created Combat Fitness North West, with the sole aim of specialising in doing personal training sessions in the comfort of the clients' home. The vast majority of sessions take place within the clients' local outdoor environments; sessions can take place in the local parks, back garden or conservatory.
